  • Background

To assist domestic industry, government, and academia in grasping market dynamics amidst the global geopolitical landscape, the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) and Dun & Bradstreet Taiwan are scheduled to hold the launch event for the Report on Investment Trends of Taiwanese Companies in ASEAN (2018-2024) on December 9, 2025, (Tue.) at 14:00. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube. This marks the first domestic joint survey between a major think tank and the world’s largest corporate database company. The report analyzes investment trends of Taiwanese companies in ASEAN countries over the past 7 years. It highlights the investment allocation decisions made by Taiwanese businesses during the 7-year implementation of the government’s New Southbound Policy. Additionally, the event also discusses the impact of 3 major events: the US-China trade conflict, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the visit of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. It is the only domestic survey report providing quantitative analysis based on massive corporate data.

For many years, countries under the New Southbound Policy have significantly influenced the supply chains of Taiwanese businesses, resulting in remarkable growth and fostering opportunities for bilateral partnerships and cooperation. This joint launch event will simultaneously release an online report, aiming to provide a reference for all sectors in future economic and trade strategies.
